When lenders are assessing and pricing your loan, one of the key factors they’ll often consider is your credit score. If you’ve got a reasonably high credit score, you’ll be eligible for a lower interest rate - and if you don’t have the best score, you’ll likely end up paying a higher rate. 

Your credit score isn’t always the most important factor though. Some lenders will pay more attention to per like your income and living situation or the loan amount you’re looking for. • Secured car loan. A secured loan will require you to use your vehicle as collateral against the loan, meaning you’ll be able to access a lower interest rate. Secured loans often offer more flexible terms and are most suitable for newer vehicles.
• Unsecured car loan. By comparison, an unsecured loan doesn’t require you to put up any collateral, so you’ll likely end up with a higher interest rate. Unsecured loans are normally used for older vehicles.

Every lender charges fees (plus interest), so it’s important you factor these in when deciding on which lender to go with. They might include monthly fees or early repayment charges. When you view your personalised rates in the Driva Dash, the monthly payment amount you see is fully inclusive of all lender fees - so there won’t be any surprises down the road.

You’ll need to take out comprehensive vehicle insurance in order for your loan to settle with any of our 30+ lenders. This is in addition to the compulsory third party insurance that’s necessary to legally drive a vehicle in Australia (depending on which state or territory you’re in, this may be included in your registration costs).

The loan amount you’ll be eligible for depends on a number of factors, including the lender's policies, your credit score and the loan term you’re after. Our lenders have loan amounts available up to $250,000 for individuals, and up to $750,000 for businesses. 

One way that you can increase your maximum loan amount is by extending your loan term (ie: from 3 years to 5 years). Keep in mind though that the longer your loan term, the more interest you’ll end up paying overall.
